Can you tell me more about Hiscox?
Hiscox is a global specialist insurer with over 3,100 staff across 14 countries and 35 offices. Well known for insuring high value homes, small businesses, specialist classic cars, prestige vehicles and fine art – among other things. Hiscox has owned the RH brand since August 2015.
Who are ERS?
ERS is the insurer and service provider for RH. It is the largest motor syndicate at Lloyd’s (Syndicate 218) and has been providing insurance to customers for more than 60 years. ERS offer a diverse range of insurance for private cars, classic vehicles, vans, motorcycles, taxis, minibuses, fleets, haulage and agricultural vehicles. ERS has administered the underwriting and claims fulfilment of the RH account since 1991.
Will I be able to talk to the same people about my RH insurances?
Yes, absolutely, the existing RH team will continue to look after your needs and their contact details remain unchanged.
Will my premium be affected by the change of ownership?
No, your premium will not be impacted by the change in ownership.
Can I still pay my premium in instalments by Direct Debit?
Yes, existing and future instalment plans are not affected.
Is my cover affected by the change of ownership?
No, your insurance cover will not change other than your policy will in future be subject to A-Plan’s General Terms of Business (the terms describing the roles played by A-Plan and ERS) once the sale has completed.
I have just received my renewal invitation; is my renewal affected in any way?
No, your invited renewal premium and cover remains valid.
I have just received a quotation from RH; is my quote affected in any way?
No, your quotation remains valid as usual for 30 days from the quotation date. If the quotation is taken up, your cover will be subject to A-Plan’s General Terms of Business once the sale has completed.
Will the change of ownership of RH mean the introduction of policy administration fees?
No, RH will continue to operate without administration fees; we recognise that clients see this as an important RH benefit.
I have a claim in progress/I am about to make a claim; will I be affected?
No, claims processing will continue as per the established processes.
